How to root the Motorola Droid Ultra tutorial

The Motorola Droid Ultra is by far one of the largest Android smartphone released by Motorola – spotting a 5-inch AMOLED display. The Droid Ultra is one of the 3 Android devices unveiled by Motorola 3 months ago including the Droid MAXX and Droid Mini. I have to admit that the Motorola Droid Ultra is already a very powerful device, but you can still take a step further by overclocking the phablet’s CPU. Follow the steps below on how to root the Motorola Droid Ultra

1. Download the MotoRoot1.1-Droid.apk to your desktop.
2. Connect the Motorola Droid Ultra to your PC.
3. Run the ADB.
4. On the ADB, type in the following command
   adb install -r motoroot.apk
5. Once you have installed the apk on your device, open the app from your app drawer.
6. On the app, tap on the Setup ( Will reboot ).
7. It will begin rooting your device and reboot once its done.
8. Install the SuperSU from Google Play.
9. Congratulation! You’ve just rooted the Motorola Droid Ultra!

How to Unroot the Motorola Droid Ultra

1. Factory Reset the device.
2. Go back to the Motoroot app and select the Unroot option.

While you now have root-access for your Motorola Droid Ultra, but do take note that its bootloader is still locked after the process – so you will not be able to install custom ROMs or kernel to the device.
